As I started piecing together a 5.1 setup I began with only purchasing the left, right and center channel speakers. I maintained a 3.1 setup for quite a while and noticed a few things. EPIC SOUNDIt doesn't sound bad but it could vary with different equipment. One of those things where there is no real standard on how to do it. So i could turn the rear speakers down, and have most the sound coming from L/R/C, or turn rear and center down. Which is just retarded when i can hit 2.1 and when i go back to 5.1 for movies or tv i dont have to re adjust. My old AVR was a tape-measure-and-listen set-up - all manual.
